Every oceanfront room at North Shore Oceanfront Resort faces the Atlantic directly — not at an angle, not across a parking lot. You step onto your balcony and the beach is in front of you. This page walks through the oceanfront rooms we offer, what separates them from our oceanview rooms, and how to pick the one that fits your trip.
What “oceanfront” means here
It is worth being precise, because the two words get used loosely across Myrtle Beach. At North Shore we use them like this:
- Oceanfront — the room faces the ocean head-on. The view from the balcony is the water.
- Oceanview — the room looks out at the ocean from the side. You see the water, at an angle, along the coastline.
Both are real ocean views. Oceanfront is the one people picture when they book a beach trip, and it is what most of our rooms are.
Our oceanfront rooms
Oceanfront Room – Two Queens
350 square feet, two queen beds, sleeps up to four. A private oceanfront balcony, a small refrigerator, a microwave, a Keurig coffee maker, and a full bathroom with an extra vanity. This is the room most families book, and the extra vanity is the reason: four people getting ready for the beach at the same time is easier with two sinks.

Oceanfront Room – Two Kings
The same 350 square feet and the same private oceanfront balcony, with two king beds instead of two queens. Also sleeps up to four. This is the one to ask for when you are travelling as two couples, or when you would simply rather have the bigger bed.

Oceanfront Deluxe Room
475 square feet — 125 more than the standard oceanfront rooms — with two queen beds and a private oceanfront balcony. The extra space is a living area with a sofa, a small table with two chairs, and a second wall-mounted 42-inch television on top of the one in the sleeping area. It also has the refrigerator, microwave, Keurig and extra vanity.
If your family tends to be awake at different times, this is the room that makes the difference. Someone can watch television on the sofa while someone else sleeps.

North Shore Penthouse
Three bedrooms, three bathrooms, up to eight guests, on the eighth floor with a private entrance and a long oceanfront balcony. A king bed in the master, a queen in the second bedroom and two doubles in the third. It has a full kitchen, a washer and dryer, and a spacious living and dining area.
This is our largest accommodation and the one to look at for a family reunion or two families travelling together. Note that it books differently from our other rooms: a $1,000 deposit is required at the time of booking, with the balance due at check-in.
If you would rather have the space than the head-on view
Our oceanview rooms look at the ocean from the side, and two of them are considerably larger than any standard oceanfront room:
- Oceanview Room — 365 square feet, two queen beds, sleeps up to four, with a private balcony and a side view of the ocean.
- Oceanview One-bedroom Studio — a much larger unit with a living area, sofa, dining table and two queen beds, plus a kitchen with a full-size refrigerator and a stove. It has a side ocean view and no balcony.
- Oceanview One-bedroom Penthouse — a living area, sofa, dining table, two queen beds, a kitchen with a full-size refrigerator and stove, and two bathrooms. Side ocean view, no balcony, and this unit requires climbing stairs.
We flag the balcony and the stairs plainly because they are the two things guests are most often surprised by. If a balcony is part of what you are picturing, book oceanfront or the Oceanview Room.
What comes with the room
Whichever room you choose, your stay includes the things that make the resort worth staying at rather than just sleeping in:
- Free admission to the Sands Resorts Waterpark. Every North Shore guest gets in free — lazy river, waterslides, splash zone and aquatic treehouse, seasonally.
- Our oceanfront outdoor pool and indoor pool, plus the Poolside Family Fun activities programme through the summer.
- The Family FunZone, our entertainment centre right here at North Shore, with an arcade, blacklight mini golf and an indoor pool.
- Salt & Lime, our Latin American restaurant, and oceanfront dining on site.
Where you will be
North Shore Oceanfront Resort is at 201 75th Avenue North, in the northern section of Myrtle Beach — a quieter stretch of sand than the downtown beachfront, still close enough to reach the attractions in a short drive. The resort was formerly the Ocean Dunes Resort, so you may know the address by that name.
Booking an oceanfront room
Rooms and rates change with the season, and the oceanfront rooms are the first to fill in summer and over holiday weekends. Check your dates and book directly, or call us on 1-800-959-6418 and we will talk you through which room suits your group.
